The statement said that the new crown virus saliva testing pilot work has been carried out in the central city of Tel Aviv, and the pilot work lasts for two weeks. During this period, medical staff will conduct new coronavirus saliva tests and standard nasopharyngeal swab tests on hundreds of people of different ages, and compare the “sampling comfort and safety” and “validity of test results” of the two methods.
According to reports, the reagents used in the new coronavirus saliva detection pilot work were developed by Bar Ilan University. Laboratory tests have shown that its performance and sensitivity are similar to standard nasopharyngeal swab tests. The saliva test can produce results in about 45 minutes, which is shorter than the standard nasopharyngeal swab test in a few hours.
According to data released by the Israeli Ministry of Health on the 7th, the country reported 2351 new confirmed cases of new crown on the 6th, with a total of nearly 1.3 million confirmed cases and a total of 7865 deaths.
